This full kitchen remodel in the heart of Morrinsville, Waikato, transformed a charming century-old farmhouse into a modern country kitchen that blends function with timeless appeal. Crisp white cabinetry, custom copper features, and warm timber textures come together to create a space that feels elevated yet deeply connected to its rural surroundings. Designed to honour the home’s heritage while delivering modern-day usability, this kitchen is a perfect balance of minimalism, warmth, and thoughtful detailing.

Designed with Intention: A Modern Farmhouse Kitchen with Timeless Charm

As part of our comprehensive kitchen remodeling service, every element of this space was thoughtfully reimagined—from floor to ceiling. The original kitchen had remained largely untouched since the 1960s and was ready for a complete transformation. Our kitchen design services included new flooring, updated ceiling details, re-lined walls, and a full cabinetry redesign that respected the home's history while introducing a refined, modern farmhouse kitchen design aesthetic. A minimalist white palette was paired with textured timber-look accents, high-gloss timber flooring, and bespoke copper features—including a statement butler’s sink and handcrafted rangehood—creating a warm, cohesive space that suits both the architecture and the lifestyle of its owners.

Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Design with Custom Copper Features

At the heart of this modern farmhouse kitchen design is a stunning copper butler’s sink paired with a sleek copper gooseneck tap. These bold yet timeless accents are complemented by a bespoke hammered copper rangehood—a focal point that ties the entire scheme together. The kitchen is largely handleless, using push-to-open drawers and doors for a seamless look. In contrast, the on-bench pantries feature slim copper handles, tying in beautifully with the statement copper sink and tapware.  Mixed metals continue throughout the design with new stainless-steel appliances, adding practicality without compromising visual cohesion.

We selected a white engineered stone benchtop to let the copper details take centre stage, while adding texture with a white textured porcelain splashback. These finishes bring softness and depth without overwhelming the space, and connect beautifully with the home’s gloss timber floors, satin sarked ceiling, and timber architraves.

Smart Storage and Lighting in a Small-Space Kitchen Remodel

Thoughtful storage was essential in this compact layout. Two on-bench pantries were custom-built with bifold doors and timber-look shelving, illuminated by integrated LED strip lighting for easy visibility. These provide ample space for everyday use while preserving the kitchen’s clean lines.

Every design decision prioritised both usability and longevity—proving that a kitchen can be elegant, efficient, and perfectly suited to the needs of its owner.
