IIn this project, our goal was to design interior spaces that seamlessly complemented our client’s existing home. To this end, we aimed to embody simplicity, functionality, and calmness. This Scandinavian-inspired minimalist kitchen and bespoke stairwell storage were thoughtfully crafted with the goal of optimizing space, leveraging clever hardware solutions, and embracing Nordic design influences. The focus? A practical, adaptable, and multi-functional space with a dash of sustainable living.

In our architectural planning, we prioritized capturing abundant natural light. As a result, clever window placement created lightness, openness, and a feeling of freedom within the kitchen and stairwell storage. Furthermore, we reduced clutter through Scandi minimalist cabinetry design, with a keen eye on materials and space optimization.

Scandinavian-Minimalism goes beyond design; it’s a lifestyle. We incorporated natural elements in the form of textiles, indoor plants, ply wall linings, bamboo benchtops, and concrete-look surfaces. This design creates a way of life that’s deeply connected to the natural world while adhering to a modest budget.

Multi-Functional Spaces

The Stairwell as a Multi-Functional Oasis

The stairwell was transformed into a multi-functional oasis, optimizing every usable space. With dual shelving and drawer systems, we provided additional storage. Additionally, a foldaway benchtop served as a dining and outdoor servery counter. Portable oven and grill spaces were readily convertible to match the in-built single wall oven.

Balancing Pastels and Earth-Inspired Accents

Subtle pastel colors paired with crisp whites and earth-inspired accent colors were used to maintain clean lines and a tranquil atmosphere. The design layout emphasized strong horizontal lines, shadow handleware, and a selection of slim-line and modest appliances.
